  My complaint is specifically with Dr Shirazi and the management, I do not know if all of the doctors here treat their parents similarly. I have been having snoring problems and went in for a simple consultation. The actual meeting with the doctor was less than 15 minutes, however they want to bill me for a consultation plus a surgery and medical supplies totaling $800 for what was mostly a chat and a literal 1 minute of the "dr" performing a laryngoscopy which was billed as a surgery through my insurance. I was under the impression that this was a regular tool as this was the first time he even examined my nose or throat, so I can't possibly comprehend how it would have been possible to have known a "surgery" was necessary. Furthermore, I was never informed this wasn't part of a routine consultation and would not be covered under such. To make matters worse, upon researching what a laryngoscopy is and why they are generally performed, I'm extremely unclear of why this procedure would have been performed for anything to do with snoring, as nothing I could find indicated any typical link between that procedure and a snoring complaint. I called the billing department, they told me there was nothing to do and let me leave a voicemail for the manager. When the manager called me, she just continued to repeat there was nothing she could do and "that was what was performed" (without my consent). She then eventually HUNG UP on me because I persisted that their entire business practice was effectively practicing fraudulently and providing unnecessary "operations" (half-assedly) to rack up charges without even asking for consent. I wouldn't wish this sort of treatment on my worst enemies. They will most certainly be getting the same treatment as the other review in which I will pay the bill with a card and dispute the charge and report them to the Better Business Bureau for their fraudulent behavior and malpractice. Please do not make the mistake of doing business with these people, because they will perform unnecessary operations without consent and then make no effort to even apologize or justify their behavior, this appears to just be the way they run their business. What a joke.

  I have been going back and forth in my mind and heart about this review because I try to be positive but I'm realizing now that I have to look out for other people. No one should have to go through what I have gone though. Two failed surgeries from a surgeon in this practice led me to a complete reconstructive surgery by a revision specialist. The surgeon from Affiliated knows his work caused the complications that needed to be remedied but he, and the practice representatives, tell me there is nothing they can do when it comes to covering the cost of the revision surgery. I had been suffering for over two years because I could not breathe well and my nose was so deformed that I was ashamed of my appearance. I had my reconstructive surgery yesterday and the new surgeon had to use rib cartilage to stabilize my nose and fix the appearance and now I suffer even more. The surgeon yesterday said that my nose was a mess on the inside as well as the outside and there was evidence of work done that was obviously unecessary and caused most of my complications.

  I'm surprised by the negative reviews that this doctor's office is receiving. I've always had a great experience with this office. The front desk staff, nurses and physician were friendly and professional.
